Irena Balaban Cakırpaloglu, Ph.D. was born in Skopje, North Macedonia, and lives and
works in Olomouc, Czech Republic. She graduated from the Department of Art
Education and the Department of Anthropology and Health Education at Palacký
University Olomouc.
Since 2003, she has regularly exhibited in the Czech Republic and abroad – in Germany,
the United States, Italy, and across the former Yugoslavia. Her works are represented in
private and public collections, and she is a long-standing member of the Union of Visual
Artists of the Olomouc Region.
In her paintings, Irena captures the atmosphere of everyday life – those small
moments we often overlook, yet which carry their own quiet energy and beauty.
Her southern roots and temperament shine through every canvas, full of light,
movement, and color, radiating both joy and inner strength.
